About us

40th Oxford (Kennington) Sea Scouts

We are a thriving Scout Group with 100 young members, a strong leadership team and executive committee about 2 miles south of Oxford.

  • Beavers meet on Tuesdays (Mary Rose)
  • Cubs meet on Wednesdays (Adventure)  or Thursdays (Endeavour)
  • Scouts meet on Mondays (Warrior)

Non-scouting groups also use our HQ – eg karate and pilates.  For occasional or regular use contact our Hall Hire Manager, Clare Platt: trainwithclaire@hotmail.com.  For other enquiries please use our primary email address:  kenningtonscouts@gmail.com.

Our headquarters can be found at

Otters Reach

Our headquarters are available for parties, camps and other events.  We have a large site, with its own secure parking and garden.  Inside there is a large room, 4 small side rooms, 1 medium room (all carpetted), a reasonably well equipped kitchen (large fridge freezer, large cooker, two sinks etc) and a couple of bathrooms (including all-access toilet and shower).  We are 15min bus ride from the centre of Oxford, or a pleasant 45min walk mostly along the River Thames tow-path.  In consideration of our neighbours all private hire (non-Scouting) must end by 10pm.
